Academic Documents

High school transcripts

It is the official printed version of your high school academic record reflecting the marks/percentage that you obtained in each subject and as a whole.  Sample High School Transcript.

College transcripts

It is official printed version of your college/university academic record reflecting your scores/GPA in each semester and cumulative GPA as a whole. Your college transcripts should provide information about all the semesters required to complete the degree requirement, unless you are a transfer student.  Sample College Transcript.  

Degree

An academic degree is a college or university diploma which is usually awarded in recognition of the recipient having satisfactorily completed a prescribed course of study. The most common degrees awarded today are associate, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees.  Sample Degree Certificate.  

Transcripts evaluation

Since academic systems vary from country to country, transcripts evaluators must be employed to assess the equivalence of your educational credentials from your home country, to the credentials of the U.S.  They will assess your credentials in terms of level, scope and intent using comparative education tools.  This helps U.S. universities make an appropriate decision on your application.  The list of all of the evaluators is available at www.naces.org/members.html. Test Scores

IELTS/TOEFL

IELTS/TOEFL are English language tests that determine your level of reading, writing, speaking and listening skills of the English Language. This is because English is an International Language and it is used as a medium of communication with the international students. Please note that the test score is considered valid only if it is not older than two years at the time of filing application.  Apart from IELTS and TEOFL, some universities may also accept the highest level at your English language institute or English 101 and English 102 courses as a proof of English proficiency.

GMAT/GRE

GRE (Graduate Record Examination) and GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) are standardized tests that are required by graduate academic programs and a majority of business schools, respectively, because they provide a measure of an applicant's academic ability. Please note that test score is considered valid only if it is not older than 2 years at the time of filing application.  Sample GRE Test Report.  Sample GMAT Test Report.  

Immigration Documents

Passport copy

It is an official document issued by a government, certifying the holder's identity and citizenship and entitling them to travel under its protection to and from foreign countries. You must scan the first page of your passport including the information pages which reflects your photo, name, date of birth etc. Please note that passport must be valid in term of expiry date.  Sample Passport. 

Passport size photographs

You must provide 3 passport size photographs. As the name suggests, passport size photographs means that your photographs should be of the same size as appearing on your passport.

Supporting Documents

Three recommendation letters

A letter of recommendation is one in which the writer assesses the qualities, characteristics, and capabilities of the person being recommended in terms of that individual’s ability to perform a particular task or function. You must provide three recommendation letters. Recommendations can be obtained by a previous employer, institutes etc. Each recommendation letter must not be more than a year old from the date of issue, for it to be considered valid.  Recommendation letters are only required for a master’s and PhD level admission.  Sample Recommendation Letter.   

CV/Resume or experience letter

A curriculum vitae (CV) or resume provides a summary of one’s experience and skills. It gives an idea about the student’s academics and experience/skills to the university and helps in decision making process. Sample CV/Resume.  An Experience Letter is a letter from your past employer, confirming your work tenure and his/her views on your personality, ability and performance.

Research proposal

A research proposal is a document written by a researcher that provides a detailed description of the proposed program. It is like an outline of the entire research process that gives a reader a summary of the information discussed in a project.  The Research proposal is only required for admission into a PhD program.  This will help you in understanding your Research Proposal

Research interest

Research Interest is a document projecting your interest of research about a specific topic or a group of interrelated topics. The Research interest could be a few sentences or a paragraph about the topic you are interested in during your graduate studies. It is only required from a master’s student.  If a PhD student provides a Research Proposal then s/he does not need to provide a research interest.

Miscellaneous Requirements

Financial guarantee

Financial Guarantee can be a letter from the bank, your employer, your government or previous institute guarantying financial/monetary support for your academics including your semester fee, cost of living, books etc. The financial guarantee must NOT be older than six months from the date of issue. 

Permanent address in home country

The mailing address of your home situated in the country of which you are a citizen.  Please submit in this format:
